I need to write these down somewhere so I don't forget them and I tend to lose anything I write on paper.
At the end of my pregnancy, we went out for ice cream with the girls and I ordered a green mint shake. Whitney asked for some of mine and I had to say no because it had a lot of dye in it. Both girls have artificial dye sensitivities. We got the girls vanilla cones and I asked Whitney if I could lick hers since it was starting to drip all over. She replied, "You can't. It has red dye for you."
When Liam was about a month old, Brooke asked about his bottom. She knew boys and girls were different, but I don't think she ever remembered seeing a boy without his clothes on. I explained that is how you can tell if he is a boy or girl and she said, "So if you have a bottom like that, you are a boy, but if you have a normal bottom, you are a girl."
One day in February, the temperature got to 58 degrees. It was fabulous and we went on a walk and two bike rides. Since then, Whitney asks to bike ride every day. Last week, in the 20 degree weather, Whitney asked to go riding. Since I tell her it's too cold all the time, I decided this time I would tell her in a different way. I said, "What is the white stuff on the ground?" "Snow!" "If you see snow on the ground it is too cold to go bike riding." She got around that by saying, "I won't look down at it. I'll just look straight ahead." Didn't work for her, but at least today it was nice enough to go out again! Woohoo!
Last week, Whitney learned about the Holy Ghost in her class at church. We asked her what the Holy Ghost feels like and she thought for a minute and then said, "Like hugging Heaven."
Tonight we had the missionaries over for dinner. They played a game and had a picture of a phone with a dial and a receiver you have to pick up. They asked Whitney what it was thinking it would be obvious to her, but she said, "I don't know." To Whitney, phones are in the shape of cell phones. I don't know if she has ever seen an old school phone. At least she knows that VHS tapes are movies!
The girls are so fun! I can't wait for Liam to start talking and saying funny things, but at the same time I don't want him to grow up. I want him to stay my little baby.
